Technician Helps A Veteran… This Story Has A Nice Ring To It!
Service Champions technician Eric arrived at his customer’s house in Orange and pressed the doorbell.
No ring and no answer.
After some knocking, the customer did come to the door. They got to talking, and Eric found out he was a veteran.
They continued chatting and Eric asked about the doorbell. The veteran said it wasn’t working, and added that the remote that triggered the system was mounted upstairs.
“I’ve been wanting to fix that but I’ve been avoiding trips up the stairs,” the customer said. Eric responded, “Let’s see what we can do to get this taken care of.”
Eric ran up and down the stairs 4 or 5 times trying to piece together a solution. About 20 minutes later, he found that a combination of new batteries and a complete system reset did the trick.
“It probably took me longer than it should have to figure it out,” Eric said with a smile. Eric is a bit of an electronic whiz – the person his friends and family turn to for fixing all things technical.
This veteran’s reaction made Eric’s 20 minutes of time absolutely worth it.
“Thank you so much, I appreciate it,” he said with a wide smile. “You didn’t have to do that.”
Eric loves doing ‘Good Deeds For Free’. It’s all because he believes in treating his customers like he would his own family. As he told the veteran, “If it was my own family member, I would do the same thing, and that’s why I do it.”
Eric you’re a real Service Champions Good Deeds Ambassador… keep up the awesome work!
