Our work servicing heating and AC systems takes us into the attic all the time to complete thorough inspections. It’s not uncommon for us to find leaks or other situations we need to bring to the homeowner’s attention.

That’s the situation Service Champion technician Jimmy found himself in at the home of a client in Chino Hills.

“I saw that there was a leak and let the homeowner know,” Jimmy said. He could tell the homeowner was very concerned.

“So, I told him, ‘I’m not a roofer but if you want, I think I can seal it for you,’” Jimmy said.

The homeowner happily gave him the go-ahead. The leak was hard to get to, but Jimmy located it and used extra materials he had on hand in his van.

“I had some duct mastic, which is a pretty heavy sealant,” Jimmy said. After about 30 to 40 minutes, Jimmy had it done.

“I told him you should be okay now, that should stop it,” Jimmy said.

Jimmy even insisted that the man call him back if the leak persisted.

The homeowner was thrilled and confessed he had a fear of heights and didn’t want to deal with climbing anywhere.

Jimmy, thanks for another super Good Deed For Free!
