Problem Latch Fixed: This Good Deed Keeps Cats From Crawling Into Attic
Service Champions technician Wes has 2 cats himself, so he knows that it can be stressful when they get into areas they shouldn’t.
This came to mind when he was at a Rowland Heights home recently and was doing an attic inspection as part of the regular maintenance. The homeowner asked him to be careful about closing the attic door because she didn’t want the cats to get into the attic.
The problem was you had to be extra careful about shutting the door because the latch on the door didn’t match up to the frame. Getting the door to stay shut was a delicate procedure!
“How long has it been like that?” he asked.
“It’s been a while,” she said.
“Well, if you like, I have some experience in door latches, so I can go ahead and line it up so it’ll close properly,” Wes offered.
The homeowner immediately brightened. “Oh, that sounds great!”
Wes is a pretty handy guy, and using the tools he had in the truck, he had it fixed in about 15 minutes.
He showed the customer that the attic door would now shut just fine.
“Oh, that’s one less thing to worry about,” she told him. “No more wondering if the cats got up there.”
She mentioned that she had heard about Good Deeds For Free on the radio, but now she knew it was true from her own experience.
Wes, great job taking care of that nagging problem for the homeowner. Thank you for another Good Deed For Free!
