I Built This Company To Make You Say ‘WOW’.
Our Culture Is To Defy Mediocre Service Standards & Deliver
An Amazing Experience For Our Clients
Hi, I’m Leland Smith, owner and founder of Service Champions Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning.
When I started this company, I already had a lot of experience in the plumbing, heating, and air conditioning business. I knew what worked, and what didn’t. And I also I knew I wanted Service Champions to be special and different.
Instead of the mediocre or even poor service standards that have become so common, I was determined to build a company that would make our clients say “WOW.”
So, I started Service Champions in 2000, and for the last 20+ years my team and I have continued to grow a culture of generosity and respect. Our philosophy is to treat our customers and employees like family. Instead of just saying “we have good service” (which is what most companies do), we take the action that proves it and then back it up with real, written guarantees.
Our expert services include comprehensive plumbing care — no matter what kind of HVAC trouble you’re in, we have the solution for you!

More About Leland Smith
I was brought up in a small town in Kentucky and when I wasn’t in school, I spent most of my time working for my family’s retail clothing business. I went on to the University of Kentucky and earned a degree in Business Administration in 1976.
After graduation I worked as a Staff Accountant for American Standard in Lexington, Kentucky, and then moved to California and began working in my brother’s plumbing business.
My entrepreneurial drive soon lead me to start my own plumbing, heating and air conditioning company. I eventually sold that business in 1997 to a publicly-traded company and worked for them for approximately three years.
Then in March of 2000, I founded Service Champions Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning. Service Champions’ goal then, now, and forever is to provide Southern California homeowners service that is beyond their expectations.
I live in Yorba Linda with my wife of 30 years and I’m a very proud father of 3. I also have a unique “hobby” that began when I first saw President Nixon at the opening of the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda. It is one of my passions to meet U.S. presidents and to collect presidential autographs.
