At Service Champions, we talk a lot about the importance of doing ‘Good Deeds For Free’ — those little extras that make our customers smile and give a boost to someone’s day.
What a lot of people don’t know is we also encourage a culture where we help ANYONE in need… Good Deeds are not just for our customers!
Service Champions technicians Gus & Cesar showed that exact spirit recently. They were in their Service Champions truck driving to the next service call when Gus spotted a homeless man picking up trash and sweeping the sidewalk.
Gus turned to Cesar and said, “We should pull over and give him a cold drink.” Cesar quickly agreed.
Cesar hopped out of the van and began talking to the man. The man explained that he just felt like cleaning up the street because it looked so dirty. After talking a bit more, Gus & Cesar gave him a bag of food, including sandwiches, chips, water and Gatorades.
These were their own lunches, but Gus & Cesar said the feeling of helping him out felt better than a meal.
“He was really happy to have the food and drinks,” Gus said. “He was just a normal guy who just didn’t have a home and was helping his community by cleaning things up.”
