Service Champions technician David had just turned into a Yorba Linda neighborhood for a service call when he saw a man waving him down.
“My car needs a jump and I’ve got to get my daughter to school,” the man said. “Do you think you could help me out?”
“Sure,” David told him. “Let’s see if we can get you going.”
David pulled his service vehicle next to the man’s pick-up truck and popped the hood. After locating both batteries and hooking up the jumper cables, the man’s truck fired up right up.
The man told David he’d been having some trouble with the battery and had an appointment to get it fixed that day, so he hoped this was the last time he would need a jump!
David accepted the man’s thanks, but he was not done doing Good Deeds For Free that day. He proceeded to his service call that was just a few houses down from where he assisted the motorist.
“At the end of my service calls, I always ask if there is anything I can do to help them out,” David said. “As it turned out this customer had two TVs and she wanted to swap their locations.”
One of the TVs was older and heavy. But David was able to get it to the new spot by himself. Next, he made sure all the cabling was re-attached correctly and that everything was in working order. He even took a few extra minutes to move and re-install a DVD player she wanted moved along with the TV.
“I’m thrilled to have that done!” she told David. “That TV was too heavy for me.”
David had mentioned running into her neighbor and helping with his car. “Thank you for doing that, too,” she said. “He’s a very nice neighbor.”
David, that’s two Good Deeds For Free… all in one neighborhood – awesome job!
